Why take this tour?

Our Best of Florence Tour starts outside the Accademia, where one of our local guides with a passion for art and history will meet you and your small group of no more than 15 people.  Heading inside with skip the line tickets, we’ll tell you the story of Michelangelo’s ‘David’ as you stand at in the Statue’s shadow then take you to see other highlights of the museum, like Michelangelo’s unfinished ‘Slaves’.

Leaving the museum, we’ll head over to the Piazza del Duomo to see the famous Cathedral Dome (still one of the largest on earth) and bronze Baptistery doors that were considered so beautiful when they were cast that they were dubbed ‘The Gates of Paradise’.  Then we’ll use special access to jump the long lines into the Florence Duomo.  Inside, we’ll show you the highlights of the Gothic sanctuary, including, stained-glass windows, Renaissance frescoes and a rare clock that still tells time according to a 600-year-old system based around the sunset.

The tour ends with a city stroll stopping at some of the City’s most recognizable landmarks. You’ll learn about the Medici in front of the Palazzo Vecchio, see the Renaissance sculptures in the Loggia dei Lanzi, learn about Florence’s rich history of jewelry making on the Ponte Vecchio, and see the monuments left by the once-powerful guilds on the outside of the Orsanmichele Church.
