Amazing Sikkim
Summary
t is around 125 km and takes about 4 hrs, but for the usual jam at Darjeeling More, Siliguri, the journey took around 5 hours. This journey though quite long and tiring but highly exhilarating as the road passes through lush green forest along the meandering Teesta River. Before the dams were made on Teesta by NHPC for the production of hydroelectricity, the river was all young till Sevoke, but construction of dams at places has changed its character from one young white girl leaping and sprinting in its course to an adult serious lady donning green cover. Through out the journey till Rangpo one travels in West bengal only and after check post one enters the state of Sikkim and nearby comes Gangtok.
