Why take this tour?

Bursting with history and culture, Toledo is the most popular destination for a day trip from Madrid. Enjoy the comfort of a private vehicle and the company of an expert guide throughout your full-day excursion. Explore the city on an informative walking tour, stop for delicious Spanish ham and Manchego cheese, and visit one of Spain's most iconic cathedrals. You'll also head out to the countryside to explore a family-run winery and participate in an expert-led tasting while getting a hands-on introduction to the bottling process.

Your day begins in central Madrid, where you’ll meet your guide and small group before hopping on a private, air-conditioned minibus to head off to Toledo.

Upon arriving in Toledo, you'll stop first at a stunning panoramic viewpoint overlooking the city and Tagus River. Then head into the city proper to embark on a walking tour of the city's historic center. Step into the Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca, a symbol of Toledo's once thriving Jewish community, and explore the winding streets of the Jewish Quarter en route to the famed Primada Cathedral. As one of the most significant religious sites in Spain, it serves as an excellent example of Gothic architecture, and no trip to Toledo would be complete without a visit.

By now a snack is in order. Stop at a family-run gourmet shop and mini museum for a guided tasting of Manchego cheese, Spain’s legendary ham, and a glass of wine. Following the tasting, you’ll have a bit of free time to do some souvenir shopping or grab a quick lunch with suggestions on a custom map created just for your group.

Next, you’ll get back on the bus for a short drive to a family-owned winery, where you'll enjoy a tour of the vineyards followed by a tasting of three of their fantastic biodynamic wines. You’ll wrap up inside their modern production facility, where you’ll get a firsthand look at the winemaking, bottling, and labeling process.

Last but not least, you’ll head back to Madrid, leaving you with plenty of time to prepare for an evening tapas crawl in the city.
