FAQ What is Camembert Cheese?

Camembert Cheese is a soft cheese produced in Normandy, France. It is made traditionally from unpasteurized cow's milk and has a slightly chalky, runny, smooth and supple taste. The rind is bloomy, the color is pale yellow inside and the main flavors that can be found in Camembert are buttery, creamy, milky and sweet. On this normandy gourmet tour, you will have the opportunity to taste Camembert. If you are a real cheese aficionado, then it is possible for us to take you to the village of Camembert and organise a local tasting of unpasteurized cheeses.

What is Calvados?

Calvados is a type of brandy made from apples. As other protected produces of France or Europe, Calvados can only be made in a certain region so as to obtain the name Calvados and that region is Normandy. Basically, Calvados is an apple cider that is then distilled and aged in oak casks. It will then age for at least two years to be legally classified as Calvados.
