Why take this tour?

Your tour begins with pick up directly from your hotel in downtown St. John’s. You’ll enjoy a narrated drive along the way to our first stop at the beautiful Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Site. This lighthouse is the oldest in the province and sits on the most easterly point of North America. While here, you will have some time to explore the lighthouse and take in the awe-inspiring views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Following your Cape Spear visit, we’ll take you back to downtown St. John’s for a narrated driving tour of the city. We’ll pass by and stop at multiple points of interest including: Jellybean Row, the Rooms, George Street, Water Street, Basilica and Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, St. John’s Harbour and the Terry Fox Memorial, commemorating the start of his Marathon of Hope by dipping his artificial leg in the Atlantic Ocean. We’ll also take you through nearby Quidi Vidi Village.

After the driving portion of your visit, we will head to Signal Hill National Historic Site. The spot is significant for its historic role in strategic military operations and as the location of the final battle of the Seven Years’ War in North America. This site is also significant to communications history as the place where the first ever transatlantic wireless signal was received by the famous Italian inventor, Guglielmo Marconi. While you are here, you will have the opportunity to explore the famous Cabot Tower and enjoy incredible views of St. John’s and its harbour.

At the end of your tour, your guide will bring you back to your hotel in downtown St. John’s.

  • Pick up time will be confirmed 1-3 days prior to the tour date via email or phone. If you do not have access to these, please be ready 30 minutes prior to tour start time in the hotel lobby.

Cancellation Policy

    Full refunds will be offered for cancellations made at least 24 hours prior to departure time. For cancellations made with less than 24 hours to departure time, a $50 cancellation fee per guest will apply.
