Ophorus Tours is both a licensed Tour Operator, member of Atout France and ETOA, and a Transportation company with headquarters in Bordeaux. We operate since 2005 and conduct Walking Tours, Day Trips, Private Tours, Shore Excursions and multi-regional Tours throughout France. 

Our multilingual office staff is made up of France Travel Experts that design unique itineraries for both individuals and groups. Their perfect knowledge of the destination allows them to suggest carefully crafted programs to professionals of the Travel Trade all over the world.

Is this a small-group tour?

Yes. This experience is limited to a maximum of 8 guests, allowing for a relaxed pace, personal interaction with your guide, and access to smaller wineries and scenic roads not suitable for larger coaches.

What wines will we taste during the tour?

You will discover a range of Alsace’s iconic wines, including Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, and other regional varietals. Tastings are guided by local producers or wine specialists who explain the characteristics and traditions behind each wine.

Is lunch included?

Lunch is not included to allow flexibility during your stop in a wine village. Your guide will recommend local restaurants or casual options depending on your preferences.

Where does the tour start and end?

The tour departs from a centrally located meeting point in Colmar. Full meeting details and directions are provided in your booking confirmation.

Do I need prior wine knowledge to enjoy this tour?

Not at all. The experience is designed for both beginners and wine enthusiasts. Your guide and winery hosts adapt explanations to all levels of interest and experience.

How much walking is involved?

Walking is light and mainly takes place during village visits and winery stops. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Can dietary restrictions or special requests be accommodated?

While meals are not included, guides are happy to recommend restaurants that accommodate dietary preferences whenever possible

What happens if the minimum number of participants is not reached?

This tour operates with a minimum of two adult participants. If minimum numbers are not met, guests will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.

Is this a small-group tour?

Do we cross into Germany?

Yes. The tour crosses the French-German border and explores the Black Forest region in Germany.

Is this a wine tour?

No. This tour focuses on discovering Alsace’s cultural and historical highlights. Wine may be available during free time but tastings are not included.

How much walking is involved?

Moderate walking is required, especially at Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle and village centers.
